Obv: Laureate head of $70 Claudius right; NCAPR countermark. Rev: Spes advancing left. RIC 99. A Neronian countermark is really being offered here rather than a low-end Claudus sestertius. The sestertius is likely a contemporary imitation such as those commonly found in Britain. The countermark, NCAPR, stands for Nero Caesar Augustus Populi Romani or Nero Caesar Augustus Progavit. Old toned brass and interesting. VG/poor.
