                        (4.29 gm).

                        ROMAN EMPIRE: Carausius (usurper in Britain, AD 
                        287-293). Bil aurelianianus (4.29 gm), Camulodunum, ca. 
                        AD 290-293. Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of 
                        Carausius right / PAX AVG, Pax standing left, holding 
                        olive branch and scepter, S-P across fields. Overstruck 
                        on a Providentia type. RIC 476, and cf. RIC 499 for 
                        undertype. Partially silvered. Reverse a bit softly 
                        struck. Extremely fine
