Caracalla, AE29 of Istros, Thrace. 14.45g. Obv: AVT K M AVR SEVEROC ANTWNIN, laureate head right. Rev: ISTRIHNWN, Cybele, mural-crowned, enthroned right, left forearm resting on small tympanum; at least one lion under her throne, Epsilon in exergue (mark of value). Varbanov 635. Cybele enthroned right is unusual, but though published specimens are quite scarce, Istros seems to have had plenty of dies of Cybele, facing both ways and with legend variations, for the whole Severan family.
