                         CARACALLA: A.D. 198 - 217

   Caracalla was the older son of Julia Domna and Severus and was created
  Augustus when only ten years of age. He reigned jointly with his brother
           Geta after the death of Severus. (Caracalla later had
                         his brother assassinated.)

                           Type Coin: AR Denarius
                         As Caesar: A.D. 196 - 198
                               Grade: Near BU

               Obverse: ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, young bust right

    Reverse: VOT SVSC DEC PON TR P V COS, Caracalla veiled as a priest,
  sacrificing over tripod altar (ca. 202 A.D., on fifth anniversary of the
        reign; refers to vows made for 10 year of prosperous rule.)
