                           CALIGULA: A.D. 37 - 41

     Caius Caesar was born about A.D. 12. He used to wear the miniature
  uniform of a private soldier, including the half-boot (caliga), and his
 nickname was bestowed on him by the soldiers when he was only a few years
               old. He was named by Tiberius as his heir and
                     succeeded that emperor in A.D. 37.

                       Type Coin: AE As (about 27mm)
