            Hippomedontos, magistrate. Struck circa 10 BC. Jugate heads right of 
            Augustus, laureate and Livia, draped / Aphrodite Stratonicis 
            standing facing, holding sceptre and Nike; to right, dove standing 
            left. RPC I 2466; Klose XXIIIB; BMC Ionia pg. 267, 255; SNG 
            Copenhagen 1334. 4.1 gm. NearVF, hard dark green patina. Well struck 
            and centered, complete legends and devices. Rare.     

            Augustus and his second wife, Livia, were married for fifty-two 
            years, and had no children of their own.   

            At Classical Numismatic Group’s Mail Bid Sale 67 on September 22nd, 
            2004, an EF specimen of this coin realized $500.
