Description Divus Julius Caesar and Augustus + AE 19 from Thessalonica in Macedon + Q E O C. This translates to "Divus" + Q E C C A [L O] N I K E W N . This is "Thessalonica". + Sear Greek Imperial (SGI) 151variant or SNG Cop. 395 + Caesar is on the side with the "Divus" and Augustus is on the reverse. + This is a nice coin with a good patina. The fields are a greenish-gray and the details are smooth and black (part of Caesar's neck is the same color as the background). Reverse has a little spotting on Augustus and is slightly off-center. Still a wonderful coin to add to your collection. Provincial coins provide a much less expensive way of adding a portrait of Caesar to a collection. Please email if you have any questions. + This same coin type in similar condition was offered for over $400 in a dealer's catalog this summer. I don't think the coin is worth that much but it is a bargain at the opening price of only $70. Shipping options include: o $2.00 in the US including insurance o $4.25 Priority mail and insurance in the US o $2.25 to Canada (at your risk) o $8.00 certified mail to Europe and Canada o $5.00 Global Priority to Europe and Canada (fast but a bit of risk) Funds must be in $US. Checks drawn against US banks and global money orders are accepted. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The seller (romanorum) and the high bidder (chandran) Announcements | Register | eBay Store | SafeHarbor | Feedback Forum | About eBay Copyright © 1995-2000 eBay Inc.
