Vinicivs in ex below, Augustus in quadriga on triumphal arch, the pedestal is inscribed S P Q R / IMP CAES; the arch is between 2 porticos each surmounted by an archer. DESCRIPTION : RSC 544, RIC I 149, this is quite a rare coin minted in 16 BC, the 7th & 8th years of Augustus's tribunician power by L. Vinicivs. It is beleived that the arch pictured is one built on the Milvian bridge to fortify the Tiber crossing of the Via Flaminia! Some roughness in fields and a bankers mark on Augustus's neck.
