Description

     This piece was minted between 150 and 151 AD, during the reign of
     Antoninus Pius, who ruled from 138-161 AD. The reign of Antoninus
     is a virtual blank in the history books, owing to the stability
     and prosperity that Rome enjoyed during these years. He was the
     personification of Rome's golden age, which reached its zenith
     under his rule. The obverse of this piece depicts the laureate
     head of Antoninus facing right, with legends
     IMP.CAES.T.AEL.HADR.ANTONINVS.AVG.PIVS.P.P. The reverse features
     Pax standing left, holding branch and sceptre, with legend PAX in
     the exergue, and TR.POT.XIIII.COS.IIII. around. Coin is a little
     off center on the obverse, but otherwise grades F+, with clear
     devices and most legends visible. A nice example of the type,
     catalouged as RSC-582. All coins guaranteed genuine without
