                          Flavian Logic Ancient Numismatics
             -------------------------------------------------------------

             Antonia ; daugther of Marc Antony and Octavia, mother of
             Claudius, grandmother of Caligula. 36 BCE - 37 CE,
             orichalcum dupondius, 27-28 mm. Obverse : ANTONIA (AUGUSTA)
             - her draped bust right. Reverse : (TI.) CLAUDIUS CAESAR
             A(UG. P.M. TR.P. IMP. P.P. S.C.) - the emperor Claudius stg.
             left holding simpulum. Grade VG+/aF. Some dark patina
             scattered over dark brass toning. Partial legends, but all
             the important names are there. A rare coin in any grade.
             Ref. SR 596 (250 pounds in Fine).
