Antonia, Æ Dupondius, ANTONIA AVGVSTA, draped bust of Antonia, facing right. / TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP S C, Claudius, veiled and togate, stands facing left, holding a simpulum. Rome mint, struck 41-42 A.D., F, Sear/RCV 1902, RIC 92, BMC 166, (13.6 gm.).

Antonia was the daughter of Mark Antony and Octavia, and at about the age of 20, married Nero Claudius Drusus and had two famous sons, Germanicus (who died prematurely, but fathered the future Emperor Caligula) and Claudius, who became Emperor after Caligula's reign of terror and subsequent assassination. Though Caligula at first honored his elderly grandmother, he may have arranged her death. Once he was killed, Antonia's son Claudius was unexpectedly proclaimed Emperor, and among his deceased ancestors, he honored her with a series of coins.
