                        ROMAN EMPIRE: Carausius (usurper in Britain, AD 
                        287-293). Bil aurelianianus (4.77 gm), Camulodunum, ca. 
                        AD 290-293. Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of 
                        Carausius right / PROVI-D AVGGG, Providentia standing 
                        left, holding globe and transverse scepter, S-P across 
                        fields, C in exergue. RIC 368 var. (radiate, draped 
                        bust). Scarce. Partially silvered. Nearly extremely fine
