                                Description

     This silver denarius, issued by Julius Caesar during 47/6BC,
     features on the obverse the bust of Venus facing right. The
     reverse scene shows Aeneas advancing left, holding a palladium
     and carrying Anchises on his left shoulder, CAESAR to right.(The
     Julia gens believed itself to be descended from Iulus, the son of
     Aeneas.)The diameter is 19mm, weight 3.93 grams. This coin is
     referenced in Sear's Roman Coins as #355. Buyer pays postage of
     $2.00 for US mailing, foreign additional.
