Cleopatra VII, Æ obol, (7.21g) Tripolis, Phoenicia, 36-35 BC, Diademed and
draped bust right, of style similar to the bronzes from Alexandria. /
TPIROLITWN [L B] Nike standing right on prow, holding wreath and palm
branch. RPC 4510 (4 examples known to RPC); Vagi 215. VF / better, black
patina.

The portraits on the two bronze denominations from Egypt were considered
the most realistic by Newell. The style of this very rare coin matches
those of Egypt, while those of the other Phoenician mints are more crude.
