Ancient Coinage of Troas, Hamaxitos


Hamaxitus was a small city in the south-west of Troas. Its ruins are at Besik Tepe in Çanakkale, Turkey. According to Head, its citizens were transferred to Alexandria Troas (Antigoneia) in 310 BC when that city was founded by Antigonos.
