Head of the deified Alexander right / Athena seated left, holding Nike in her extended right hand, left arm leaning on her shield; torch to inner left, star on throne. Thompson 43; Müller 381. Good VF, faint graffiti above Athena’s arm. Fine style, high relief portrait. ($750) An interesting reverse die with Athena seated in midair, the engraver having forgotten to engrave the throne.
