BC, Facing head of Hermes, in high relief, slightly left, wearing petasos
with studded rim, thick curly hair framing heavy-set and sensual face. /
AINION Goat standing right; coiled serpent before, all in incuse square.
BMC 21; cf. May Group LV, 398 (unlisted dies) VF, high relief obverse of
very good style, some subtle tooling. The types of Ainos relate to the
cityıs chief god, Hermes, in his role as protector of commerce. The reverse
is his familiar animal, the goat, paired with a variable control mark which
