Lorber’s interpretation of the evidence of a number of hoards leads her to propose that this group was issued circa 350’s-340’s BC, when Philip II of Macedon took a prominent role in Thessalian politics through his involvement in the Third Sacred War. Lorber places her phases L-I and II as ending pre 348, with phase L-III already in production by that date. CNG Mail bid sale #58, 18 Sept 2001, lot 394. Lot sold for $451.
