CNH 69. Dark brown patina with areas of green and earthen overlay. Nearly very fine Ex F. Martin Post Collection. The coins of Robinson’s Series 7 are of two styles, one Punic, the other more Roman in character. Robinson suggested that the latter represents the coinage of Carthago Nova after its capture by Scipio in 209 BC, and that the head on the obverse is a portrait of Scipio himself, while the heads of Punic type basically reflect the features of Hannibal. Villaronga simply calls both male heads. Estimated Value: $ 500 sold for high bid of $485 [ $557.75, or approx 435.045 EUR, £290.03 From the Freeman & Sear Mail Bid Sale 13, Closed August 25th, 2006.
