A-SK-L-H-PI, bearded and laureate head of Asklepios left / SURAKOSIWN in exergue, barking dog standing left, right forepaw raised; monogram above. Exceptional, and the only known piece with a fully legible obverse legend. ($1000) All of the standard references refer to the obverse of this coin as Zeus, but the reading of the legend on this specimen clearly identifies the head as that of Asklepios.
