                        gm).

                        SICILY. Syracuse. Ca. 450-ca. 445 BC. Silver tetradrachm 
                        (17.32 gm). Charioteer driving slow quadriga right; 
                        above, Nike flying left to crown him, ketos (sea 
                        serpent) right in exergue / SURAKOS-I-O-N, head of 
                        Arethusa right, wearing pearl necklace, hoop earring 
                        with three pellets at bottom, and band wound once around 
                        head and three times around hair in back, four dolphins 
                        around. Boehringer 492 (V259/R348). Lightly toned. Some 
                        weakness in areas on obverse. Extremely fine with a 
                        beautiful Arethusa head
