SICILY. Akragas. Ca. 464/61–450 BC. Silver tetradrachm (17.15 gm). 
AKPAC—ANTOÓ, eagle standing left / Crab. SNG ANS 979 (same obverse 
die). Mint state. 

Of the numerous Agrigentum tetradrachms in existence, almost all 
have very disappointing striking and centering problems. Once in a 
very great while a coin comes to the market that is wholly 
exceptional, lacking the problems that plague this issue.
