Note the absence of wear on the high points. The reverse depicts Athena standing left, holding a small figure of Nike in her right hand. Her left hand holds a scepter and rests on a shield, upon which can be seen a human face. Again, no wear is evident. David Sear wrote that Antiochos VII, "almost alone amongst the later Seleukid monarchs,... ruled with competency and integrity." He was killed in battle against the Parthians.
