Everything one could want in a portrait of this king, mentioned in the
Bible for his attacks on the Jerusalem temple and the war against the
Maccabees. Rev. A fantastic depiction of Ba’al-Berit, the local god of
Berytus, often assimilated to the Greek deity, Poseidon. Note the trident
that he holds. BASILEWS ANTIOXOY. The Phoenician inscription reads “of
Laodicea, which is in Canaan”.
