Antiochus IV CSE 113 PLATE COIN $44.00, Sep-21-01 Contributed by nummohead Bronze. Veiled bust of Laodice IV r. Border of dots/Elephant head l. BASILEWS ANTIOXOY. Seleucia-in-Pieria mint. Until very recently no one knew who was depicted on this coin series. However, a new study shows that the woman can be none other than Laodice IV, the wife and sister of both Seleucus IV and Antiochus IV. It is possible that the Antiochus named on the coin is not Antiochus IV, but Antiochus the son of Seleucus IV, who reigned briefly before his uncle killed him.
