Alexander III (The Great) Tetradrachm
Similiar to SNG Copenhagen 724, minted 1st Century BC.
Obverse : Head of Herakles wearing lion's skin right.
Reverse : Zeus enthroned left, holding sceptre and eagle.
ALEXANDROU BASILEOWS' , QE before Zeus. Monogram
beneath throne.

Grade :  aVF/aVF - nice toning

The Alexander Herakles/Zeus type tetradrachm was widely accepted in 
the ancient world as coinage, so much so that it was minted long
after his death and in many different cities throughout the ancient 
world. This example was minted almost 2 centuries after his death.
