Alexander the Great, AR tetradrachm, (17.11g) Babylon, 325-323 BC, Head of
(Alexander the Great as?) Hercules right, wearing lion skin knotted at
base. / [A]LEXANDPOY Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle on extended arm,
legs uncrossed, ivy leaf before, M in exergue, monogram below throne. Price
3618. VF, good style

Lifetime issue, from the same issue as the famous and rare dekadrachms. The
style and monograms on this coin are shared by the dekadrachms of
Alexander. Both were probably produced by the same skilled engraver,
perhaps in relation to the mass-wedding of Alexander's men.
