            MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III The Great. (336-323 BC). Gold 
            stater (8.61 gm). Amphipolis, ca. 324–319 BC.. Head of Athena right 
            in crested Corinthian helmet with coiled serpent device on bowl, 
            wearing pearl necklace / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Nike standing left, holding 
            wreath in right hand and stylis in left, trident head in left field. 
            Price 172. Cf. Troxell pl. 31, 12–14 and 6–19 for obverse style. 
            Obverse struck in high relief. Tiny flan flaw on reverse. Lustrous 
            mint state.
