ROMAN PROVINCE OF MACEDON. First Region. Ca. 158–150 BC. Silver 
tetradrachm (16.36 gm). Draped bust of Artemis right, wearing 
stephane, bow and quiver over shoulder, in tondo of Macedonian 
shield ornamented with stars inside double crescents / ΜΑΚΕΔΟΝΩΝ 
ΠΡΩΤΗΣ, horizontal club, ΣΗΡΑΥ monogram above, TKN and MET monograms 
below, all within oak wreath, thunderbolt outside to left. AMNG 
III/1, 180. Variant of SNG Oxford 3296 and BMC Macedonia 6. Toned 
extremely fine.
