    LUCANIA. Velia. Ca. 365–350/40 BC. Silver stater (7.51 gm). Head of     Athena right in crested Attic helmet ornamented with griffin on     bowl, È behind Athena’s neck / ÕEËHTÙN, lion walking right, Ö above,     È under belly. Williams 272 (same dies). As SNG Oxford 216–223. HN     Italy 1284 (there dated ca. 340–ca. 334 BC). Isolated areas of weak     striking. Magnificent high-relief prowling lion on reverse.     Extremely fine.
