Lucania, Metapontion. Circa 380-340 BC. Signed obverse die by
Aristoxenos. AR Nomos (7.61 gm). Head of Kore left, wearing ampyx
and earring; ARISTO in small letters on the truncation of the
neck (not visible) / META right, six-grained barley ear with leaf
to right. Noe 433 (same dies); SNG ANS 331 (same dies); Jameson
277 (same dies). Toned VF. 721780

The artist who engraved and signed this obverse die was also
responsible for several dies used at Herakleia, cf. E. Work, The Earlier Staters of Heraclea Lucaniae, ANSNNM 91 (New York, 1940),85ff.
