   Ptolemy VIII (?), AR didrachm, (7.42g) Uncertain Mint, probably
   Cypriot, less likely Phoenician. Diademed and curly haired bust of
[ ]ruler right, wearing aegis, dotted border. / Crude legend, RTOLEAMIOY[ ]
   BASILEWS, several letters of the second word upside-down, Eagle
   standing right on thunderbolt, dotted border. BMC-; Svor.-; Hazzard-.
   Unpublished. Near EF, well struck on a generous flan, the rim showing
   numerous small cracks typical of an overstruck coin, some modest
   encrustation on fields. Didrachms are attributed to either Cypriot or
   Phoenician mints. This coin is either barbarous, or the product of a
   rather sloppy die-cutter.
