Heracles, viewed from behind, fighting the Hydra of Lerna; the hero is nude except for the lion skin draped over his left arm; he brandishes a club in his right hand and holds one of the Hydra’s many heads with his left; between his legs, a crab / ????????, bull prancing right, head turned facing. Svoronos 59, pl. xxiv, 18 (same obverse die). Very rare. Numerous old scratches. Toned. Nearly very fine Ex van Eyndhoven Collection (Schulman, 1924, lot 81).
