Ancient Coinage of Crete, Kydonia

Ancient Kydonia was centered around today's harbour area and Kastelli Hill. Most of the excavated remains are stored in the Chania Archaeological Museum. The flag of Chania shows the hero Kydon stringing his bow, as on the coin BMC 4.
