head 3/4 facing, wearing necklace and pendant earring / Bearded head right,
wearing crested  Athenian helmet.  SNG Levante -;  SNG France 249  var. (no
monogram); SNG von Aulock 5923. Toned, good VF. ($1000)

While most coins of this type display stereotyped heads of little
originality, this coin is from a special issue marked by superior style and
the appearance of olive leaves on the helmet visor worn by the bearded
male. It has been suggested (Leu Auction 81, lot 317) that this may be a
disguised portrtait of Pharnabazos himself.
