Hieropolis-Kastabala, pseudo-autonomous, ca 150-211 AD. AE24 (8.71g). Obv: IEROPOLI-TWN, draped, veiled bust of Tyche right, wearing mural-crown. Rev: TWN PROS TO PURAMW, bust of Artemis Perasia right, draped and veiled, wearing mural-crown; burning torch before. Submitted by Jochen Hoeft, 2008. The goddess on the rev. is sometimes called Hekate because of the torch, in error because Hekate never wears a mural crown. This type will not have been struck after Severus, where KASTABA?EON is always added. A similar reverse, but facing left with the torch on the left was struck for Lucilla.
