AIGEAIWN ANTWNEINO YPOLEWC, Bearded, draped bust of Asklepios right, 
wearing narrow taenia, serpent-entwined staff at his left shoulder.
MAKEDONIKHC (EY GEN) PICTHC QEOFILO, Octastyle temple of Asklepius on 
steps, statue of Asklepius within, wearing himation, holding snake-
entwined staff; in the pediment, eagle flying left; in the field, date G-S/C (year 263); goat recumbant right between two dots in exergue. 

Prieur 723 shows a tetradrachm with the same obverse; cf also H. 
Bloesch, "Caracalla in Aigeai", Atti (Proceedings) Congresso 
Internazionale di Numismatica, Roma 1961 (1965), 307 ff. 
Unique, unpublished and very interesting type. Very fine.

These types refer to an illness of Caracalla and of his attempt of 
being healed by visiting sanctuaries of Asklepius at Pergamum and 
probably Aegeae.
