  facing, slightly right / MAUSSWLO, Zeus Labraundos standing right, holding double axe
  (labrys) and lotus-tipped sceptre; ME monogram behind. SNG von Aulock 2358;

  Maussollos patronized the arts and learning in a manner which foreshadowed the
  hellenistic dynasties of Alexandria and Pergamon. His protégés included the
  astronomer-mathematician Eudoxus and the Athenian orator Aeschines. His finest
  contribution was largely posthumous - the magnificent tomb for which Maussollos and
  later his widow Artemisia commissioned the greatest living architects and sculptors,
  and which gave us the English word Mausoleum.
