  Campania, Neapolis. Circa 325-241 BC. AR Nomos (6.99 gm). Head of nymph right; sword
  in sheath behind / Man-headed bull walking right; Nike flying above crowning him. SNG
  ANS--; SNG Lockett--; SNG Lloyd--; Jameson--; BMC Italy--; etc. Unpublished in the
  major references. Toned VF. Estimate $100.



  The symbol behind the head of the nymph is not listed in any of the major published
  collections. There is a similar symbol, club, that occupies the same position, but
  the symbol on this coin is clearly a sword in sheath (e.g., cf. SNG Finland 221
  [Eupolemos]; SNG BMC Black Sea 1147 [Amisos]). As the coins of Neapolis have seen
  ample publication, this offering presents the specialized collector with a wonderful
  opportunity to acquire a unique(?) variety.
