CALABRIA: TARANTUM. Silver Diobol. 4th Century BC Head of Athena to 
right, wearing Attic helmet adorned with Skylla. Rev. Herakles 
kneeling right, fighting the Nemean lion; to left, club; above, 
grasshopper. HN III 976. SNG Cop. 979. Vlasto 1327.  12mm. 1.1gm. 
Photo shows a shadow on lower obverse; toning is uniform. 
Attractive, toned near VF. Interesting and rarely seen varient with 
grasshopper. 


Leu Numismatik AG at its Auction 86 held  on  May 5th, 2003 realized 
 900 CHF  (approx. 674 U.S. Dollars as of the auction date) for a 
good Extremely Fine specimen of this coin (Lot number: 208).
