BRUTTIUM. Croton and Temesa in alliance. Ca. 430–420 BC. Silver 
stater (7.98 gm). QPO (retrograde) on left, TE (retrograde) on 
right, tripod / QPO (retrograde), Corinthian helmet right. SNG ANS 
448 (same dies). HN Italy 2122. Very rare. Very fine. 

In the first half of the 5th century Kroton struck alliance 
coins with Pandosia, Sybaris and Temesa. 
Temesa is believed to have had some link to Sybaris, so it 
too must have been dominated by Croton after 510.
