"King Gersem" (in Ge'ez), crowned facing bust; two crosses in fields / +"He Conquers through Christ" (in Ge'ez), cross with pellet terminals in circle. Munro-Hay 149; BMC Aksum 560 var. (obverse legend); Anzani 279 var. (same). Good VF, brown patina. Exceptional strike for a late Axumite coin. Munro-Hay notes that the reverse cross is never within a perfect circle, and suggests it may depict a rosary.
