   KINGS of AXUM. "AGD". Circa 525-550 AD. AR 16mm (1.49 gm). "AGD King of
   Axum" (in Ge'ez), crowned facing bust; gilt crown / "The king who Exalts
   the Savior" (in Ge'ez), cross under arch; gilt center. Munro-Hay 126; BMC
   Aksum 444. VF. The entire surface of the coin appears to have been
   silver-enriched.

Our knowledge  is fragmentary; we know little about the 
absolute chronology of the later Axumite kingdom, and even the names of the kings are subject to debate. We know king AGD (or ADG) only from his coins- the name is sometimes read as Adegu.
