                        IMITATIONS OF ROMAN REPUBLICAN COINAGE. AR denarius 
                        (3.49 gm). DVTEVTI, head of Roma right in winged helmet 
                        with griffin crest / Horseman leaping right, below horse 
                        rectangular tablet with inverted and intaglio 
                        inscription IRAVI (?). BMC Celtic 275–276. Dessewffy 
                        510. Freeman — (but cf. 5/B [pl. 29, 8], same obverse 
                        die). Rare. Unusually complete obverse inscription. Dark 
                        toning. Nearly very fine/good fine 

                        Ex Thomas Olive Mabbott Collection (Schulman, 25 July 
                        1972, lot 203).
