Pannonian Celts, "Puppet rider" tetradrachm, early 3rd c. BC. Laureate head of Zeus right, his eye represented by an arrowhead. Celtic inscription above puppet-like horseman right, left arm raised, triskeles beneath the horse, Pi under horse's front hooves. Note: The triskele variants date from the mid 3rd c. BC onwards, whilst the rarer issue with the monogram of the Paeonian king Audoleon, are from a slightly earlier period.
