AR Unit (1.26 gm). Sphinx Type. Draped bust right, CVNO in front / 
Winged sphinx seated left on exergual line, TASCIO in front. Hobbs 
1874-78; Van Arsdell 2057; SCBC 313. Good VF, granular surface, neat 
round flan, full inscription, beautiful sphinx. ($400)

The reverse may have been adapted from a gemstone (Henig 1972, 215-16; 
Scheers 1992, 40) or possibly from a denarius of T. Carisius, Rome, 46 
BC, Crawford 464/1 (Scheers 1982, 620).
