Carthage Solidus of HERACLIUS & SON EF+ $335.00 12/12/99 Seller praetorian This coin was minted at Carthage between 618 and 619 AD, during the joint reign of Heraclius and his son, Heraclius Constantine. The obverse type features the facing busts of Heraclius and Heraclius Constantine, each wearing chlamys and crown, cross between their heads, with legends for D.N.eRACLIO.eT.eRA.CONST.PP., followed by the indictional year. The reverse type features a cross potent on three steps, with legends VICTORIA.AVG.Z., and mintmark CONOB in the exergue. Coin shows typical obverse striking weakness, but otherwise grades a nice EF, with clear to bold devices and legends where struck up, and a significant amount of the original mint lustre still evident.
