                                Description

England, Edward III, 1351-1352 (reigned 1327-1377), AR Penny (17x18mm),
aF/F+. Seaby/Spink 1565, North 1150, Pre-treaty coinage. Obv. Crowned bust
facing. Rev. CIVITAS DVNELMIE, long cross ending in a crozier on the top,
with three pellets in each angle. The coin is unevenly toned gray on a
slightly clipped flan, with a little porosity. Legends are very weak on the
obverse, and about 1/3 present on the reverse. The portrait is clear but
weak, and the reverse cross and crozier are well struck.
