Obv. + EDW R ANGL DNS HYB, crowned and draped bust facing, star on breast. Rev. CIVITAS EXONIE, long cross with three pellets in each angle. The coin is toned gray with a little of the lower part of the obverse apparently double struck, and some very light obverse scratches (seen only on magnification). Legends are about 3/4 complete, with a few letters weak, and some partially off the lan. The portrait shows decent detail, and the reverse cross is bold. The Exeter mint only minted coins of Class 9b. Edward I was the English king portrayed in the movie "Braveheart." He had great military success in Wales, but, as the movie shows, he did not duplicate that success in Scotland.
