                                Description

England, Edward I, 1272-1307, AR Penny (19mm), F/F+, Canterbury mint.
Spink/Seaby 1389 and 1419, Class 3c. Obv. + EDW R ANGL DNS HYB, crowned and
draped bust facing. Rev. CIVITAS CANTOR, long cross with three pellets in
each angle. The coin is darkly toned, on a slightly wavy flan. Legends are
nearly complete, but with some weak letters. The portrait is decent, but a
little blurred, and the reverse is fairly nice. Edward I worked to bring
the Welsh and the Scots under his dominion, yet chased all Jews from his
realm.
